2. LORD DALHOUSIE





Welcome to my travel blog about Dalhousie, a beautiful hill station located in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming town and I can't wait to share my experiences with you. 

Getting There: Dalhousie is located around 193 kilometers from Jalandhar. We booked a taxi to reach Dalhousie. The drive from Jalandhar to Dalhousie was a beautiful one, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. 

Where to Stay: There are plenty of hotels and resorts in Dalhousie catering to all budgets. We stayed at the Grand View Hotel, which is one of the oldest and most famous hotels in the town. The hotel is located on a hilltop and offers stunning views of the valley below. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. 

What to See: Dalhousie is a beautiful town with plenty of things to see and do. Here are some of the places that we visited during our stay: 

  1. Khajjiar: Khajjiar is a small hill station located around 20 kilometers from Dalhousie. It is also known as the Mini Switzerland of India due to its beautiful scenery. The main attraction of Khajjiar is the Khajjiar Lake, which is surrounded by beautiful pine trees and is a great spot for picnics. 

  1. Dainkund Peak: Dainkund Peak is the highest peak in Dalhousie and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The peak is located around 10 kilometers from Dalhousie and is a great place for hiking and trekking. 

  1. Kala top Wildlife Sanctuary: The Kala top Wildlife Sanctuary is located around 12 kilometers from Dalhousie and is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The sanctuary is a great place for nature lovers and offers plenty of opportunities for bird watching and trekking. 

  1. St. Francis Church: St. Francis Church is one of the oldest churches in India and is located in the heart of Dalhousie. The church was built in 1894 and is a great example of colonial architecture. 

  1. Satdhara Falls: Satdhara Falls is located around 7 kilometers from Dalhousie and is a popular picnic spot. The falls are surrounded by beautiful scenery and offer a great place to relax and unwind. 

What to Eat: Dalhousie offers plenty of options for foodies. Some of the local specialties that you must try including Chana Madra, Sidu, and Dham. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes in the town that serve Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisine. 

Overall, Dalhousie is a beautiful hill station that offers something for everyone. Whether you're a nature lover, adventure enthusiast, or just looking for a relaxing holiday, Dalhousie is the perfect destination for you.
